Responsibilities
Perform substantive legal research, writing, drafting and/or project-based work in the following areas: Corporate Secretary/Governance/Shareholder Services, Bank Regulatory, Corporate Securities Filings, Vendor contracts, IP, Privacy & Cyber, Risk/Legal Operations, Litigation, Residential & Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending & Payments, Employment
Attend internal meetings with departments across the bank and interface with management, other legal staff, and Webster colleagues
With supervision by a senior attorney, may be given responsibility for: Generating first draft analyses of developing issues or responses to inquiries, Developing written presentations to Webster colleagues, Drafting Legal Department procedures or process documents, Reviewing existing contracts for material information and input into contract management system, Developing reporting from legal billing software solution
Work on other tasks as appropriate to support the Webster legal team where needed
Qualification
Required
Current first or second year Law School student
Resourceful, enthusiastic, and proactive
Highly organized
Demonstrated strong attention to detail
Experience creating and delivering presentations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to learn quickly and solve problems
Strong analytical skills
Collaborative and inclusive team player
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Legally eligible to work in the U.S
