Responsibilities
Lead and support the development of roadway geometric design, drainage, and traffic control plans
Prepare and review construction documents, plan sets, and specifications for transportation projects
Perform complex calculations including horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, and quantities
Assist with cost estimates, bid document preparation, and design schedule management
Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers; provide guidance and mentorship
Coordinate design activities with internal teams, subconsultants, and external agencies
Conduct technical reviews to ensure quality control and compliance with local and state standards
Support project managers in client coordination, scoping, and proposal development
Contribute to transportation studies, alternatives analysis, and engineering reports
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE required)
Minimum 2+ years of experience in roadway/transportation design
Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer required
Solid knowledge of AASHTO and state DOT roadway design standards
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
EIT required; working toward PE license
