Responsibilities

Manage, monitor and coordinate SMS activities as directed. These duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the SMS throughout Frontier
Identify hazards and safety risk assessments including change management
Ensure effectiveness of safety risk controls
Promote safety
Advise the accountable executive on the performance of the SMS and on any need for improvement
Accountable for achieving safety performance relative to job tasks
As a working member of the group, the Engineering Configuration Control Supervisor is expected to lead, direct, and approve the work of others in their work group
Always follow (never deviate from) approved published procedures unless proper deviation approval is authorized
Review and Management of RIL and Parts Pool Configuration Change Requests
Manage personnel providing technical support for Line/Heavy Maintenance and Materials, to include parts and materials definition, and FMIS updates as necessary
Monitor Configuration Control activities to ensure performance levels are sufficient to provide the highest possible standards of quality and safety
May conduct research and data collection to aid in the development of Engineering documents, RILs, and Parts Pool Configuration Change Requests
Participates in the development of engineering data to accomplish modifications in response to ADs, SBs, SILs, etc
Reviews ADs and SBs for applicability, as required
Analyze and determine disposition of all reliability issues and improvements
Identify operational improvement opportunities and communicate them to management
Work directly with Engineering and Materials to ensure comprehensive compliance and substantiation
Interact with applicable departments to define, maintain, and optimize the CAMP
Minimize costs and aircraft out-of-service time relative to area of responsibility
Ensure that specifications and FMIS setup exists for configuration control, to include Engineering documents for new aircraft delivery configuration and standardization
Responsible for assigning work flow, and approvals as delegated by Engineering Managers, and Determines work priorities on a daily basis
Directs work schedules, days off, vacation, and training schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage
Ensures company policy is followed, and personnel are properly trained to fulfill their responsibilities
Ensure that personnel within the department including themselves, are properly trained, qualified, and that they are current to perform assigned tasks
Review and evaluate Configuration Component Engineer and Analyst performance and administer corrective action when necessary
VDRP Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in the GMM 100.03: Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position VDRP
Provide timely and accurate information on aircraft configuration status, on request
Audit and monitor the aircraft configuration functions to ensure the airworthiness of Frontier aircraft
Assist in formulation of departmental policy
Assist in creating and administering company and departmental budget and performance commitments
Perform computer and administrative functions as assigned by manager
Provide support to the aircraft Maintenance Department for critical Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations
Responsible for Human Resource process, coordination and review of personnel for proper qualifications, and ensuring that all personnel under his/her direction are properly trained and qualified to perform the assigned tasks
Other duties as assigned
Modify and authorize Engineering Configuration documentation in FMIS
Approve Publication Change Requests (PCRs) to modify Maintenance documentation
Modify Engineering Configuration processes as required to meet evolving regulatory and company requirements
Assign Engineering Configuration resources as necessary to comply with regulatory and company requirements
Has authority to initiate revisions to company manuals

Required

Minimum Associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aviation Technology or a related field required; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating may be accepted in lieu of degree, with equivalent experience
Be familiar with and have general understanding of Time Controlled Parts, Reliability Programs, FARs, Manufacturers Documentation to include but not limited to Maintenance Manuals, IPCs, Trouble Shooting Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Aircraft Drawings and CMMs, SBs, STCs, ADs and PMA parts
Must have excellent communication skills, and at least moderate computer and technical writing skills

Preferred

Education in or experience with Quality Systems preferred though not required
Prior 121 airline experience strongly preferred
Supervisory experience and ability to lead a department with strong leadership skills highly preferred
