Responsibilities
Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites
Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on-orbit performance of complex electrical designs
Support environmental and functional testing of subsystems (e.g., TVAC, vibe, etc.) to correlate models for all satellite mission environments
Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines (mechanical, thermal, software, test engineering, supply chain, RF communications, EPS, etc.) to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware
Define and lead qualification and lifetime testing at the component, subsystem, and vehicle levels, ensuring performance and reliability across all phases of development
Interface with suppliers and manufacturers to deliver production-ready hardware – some travel may be required
Qualification
Required
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
2+ years hands-on experience with full-cycle electronics hardware design and development of new hardware products, ideally for aerospace or other high-reliability environments
Proven experience designing and implementing mixed-signal, high-speed digital circuit boards involving: FPGAs, microcontrollers, DDR4/LPDDR4 memory, Multi-GHz SerDes (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe), Power supplies (DC-DC converters, LDOs), ADCs/DACs, op-amps, and precision analog components, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and GPIO interfaces
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
Must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. export control laws (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) and eligible to work on ITAR-regulated projects
Preferred
Knowledge of radiation effects and degradation of electronic components in space environments
Proficiency in at least one schematic/layout tool (e.g., Altium, Xpedition, etc.)
Familiarity with spaceflight qualification standards (e.g., ECSS, NASA-STD, MIL-STD, etc.)
Working knowledge of Python and C/C++ for test automation or embedded bring-up
Skilled in lab bring-up and debugging tools: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, etc
