Structural Engineer
Chenega Corporation is a premier provider of Architecture and Engineering support services to federal customers. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for evaluating design options based on client needs, communicating recommendations, and ensuring project quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities
Provide value to our clients by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost
Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email, and phone as necessary
Work alone on projects, or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail the new structural systems that are needed
Assure work is accurate and coordinated, and that the quality assurance measures have been followed
Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements
Maintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services are needed

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures
5+ years of experience in the design of industrial, power generation, and facilities and structures
working knowledge of Structural Analysis and Design Software (specifically RAM suite preferred)
BIM strategies using Revit and Navisworks
PE License (or on path to obtain)
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Ability to travel to client locations as needed
Strong written and verbal communication
Knowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Ability to lead the pursuit of projects for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations, and writing proposals
Ability to provide technical assessments of potential project opportunities to aide in project go/no-go decisions
Ability to lead and oversee the work of other engineers and designers as a Project Design Lead or a Project Manager to develop project deliverables
Ability to perform structural analysis and design calculations following office structural design standards
Ability to stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities
Building foundation design, including shallow and deep foundations
Concrete pit and trench design
Soil retention design, including those for temporary construction
Slab on grade and elevated slab design
Equipment lifting design and layout
Fall protection design for general industry and construction
Building design using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
Connection design
Equipment support design and layout
Mechanical process piping supports
Develop specification documents
