Responsibilities
Support design reviews and requirements generation
Conduct/Review system/subsystem hazard analyses
Generate/Review hazard reports/safety assessments including supporting documentation
Conduct/Review system/subsystem FMECAs
Conduct/Review FTAs
Integrate and coordinate with internal S&MA disciplines and engineering/management
Support short-term projects
Provide guidance to S&MA program startups
Provide mentorship to program/company teammates
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Bachelors of Science in a Related Field (e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, etc.) from an ABET-accredited institution
15+ years of experience and knowledge in System Safety Engineering Practices
A minimum of 15 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 13 years with a Master's degree in science, in engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, aeronautics, safety, or a closely related technical discipline
U.S. Citizenship
Knowledge/experience with NASA and/or DoD S&MA processes, requirements, and methodologies
Knowledge/experience with human spaceflight requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate well with different levels of management, including presentation skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver high quality products on schedule
Ability to obtain a SECRET level clearance in the future if needed
Remote work requires home office with adequate communication infrastructure (e.g., reliable internet)
Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written
Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers
Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk
Ability to lift >15 lbs
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgement
Work attire must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk / hazard to the employee or other
