SDOT Project Delivery Intern
The City of Seattle is seeking interns to join the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) in shaping the city's streets. The role involves managing projects from concept to completion, providing hands-on experience in engineering and project delivery for multi-modal transportation initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assist with preparing basic AutoCAD drawings and edits for SDOT traffic and transportation projects
Support engineers with project background research, simple calculations, and organization of work orders and project documents
Participate in site visits and assist with field observations
Assist with field surveys and collect data such as measurements, photos, and notes under the guidance of engineers
Help organize before, during, and after construction photo documentation
Attend office, virtual, and on-site meetings with engineers, project staff, and field crews to learn about project coordination, construction practices, and agency processes
Assist with updating basic transportation asset information (e.g., curb ramps, sidewalks, signs, pavement markings) in SDOT asset management databases
Perform data entry and quality checks under supervision
Qualification
Required
Open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year educational program
Undergraduate engineering students must maintain a 2.5 GPA
Graduate engineering students must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA
Must be comfortable and capable of driving throughout all areas of Seattle as required for job duties
AutoCAD - Must have completed CAD course and have working knowledge and be able to perform design functions (Beginning/intermediate level is adequate)
Desired candidate will have survey experience and be familiar or has prepared engineering design plans
Working knowledge of standard office software
Must have a current valid WA State Driver's License and a safe driving record
A complete driving abstract will be required at the time of hire at the applicant's expense at the time of hired
Preferred
Open to all under/graduate Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Landscape Architecture students who are enrolled in an accredited educational program
