Responsibilities

Failure evaluation
Material selection, evaluation, and support
Metallurgical / heat treatment analysis
Welding design evaluation support
Development, execution, and review of welding procedures
Vendor shop oversite / surveillance / expediting
Nondestructive Examination / Testing (NDE / NDT) review, evaluation, and support
QC program / plan review and development
Factory Acceptance Testing support
Corrosion evaluation and support
Coating evaluation, selection, and support
Special Process Support
Managing materials and related personnel
Training employees
Special process program / procedure review and development
Technical specification development and support
Technical report preparation and review
Document review
Data analysis and trending
Recommending / evaluating test data
Failure / causal analysis

Qualification

Required

BS or MS from an ABET-accredited engineering program or related academic experience
5 or more years of experience in welding, NDE techniques / performance, QC, and materials / metallurgy / welding
One of the following certifications: American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), ASNT Level II NDT Certification(s) – VT, MT, PT, RT, UT, or ET, AMPP Coating Inspection certification or related qualification
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical reasoning

Preferred

Previous NDE, Welding, or QC Program Manager experience
Experience in the power (fossil or nuclear) or related industries
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training or a Professional Engineering (PE) License
