Staffing Response Coordinator

The Staffing Response Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels and mixes to meet patient needs while applying consistent resource planning to manage staffing challenges.

Responsibilities

Identifies, coordinates and assigns all available staffing resources for clinical units across the system
Ensures that all clinical units are adequately staffing according to patient census and acuity by providing continuous monitoring of staff resource
Participates in daily huddles to understand staffing needs at each entity
Proactively identifies and monitors resource availability, conflicts and shortages
Works with Staffing Response Team leadership to adjust staffing according to predetermined guidelines
Works continuously with available staff to fill open shifts and balance with existing work schedules
Analyzes and challenges staffing requests against key engagement metrics to ensure appropriate allocation of resources
Prepares relevant resourcing reports and analyzes for trends
Identifies and implements improvements in practices, processes and reporting
General administrative and other related duties – data entry, timesheet monitoring, etc

Required

High School diploma or GED required
One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience
If Bachelor's degree, no years of experience is required
If Associate's degree, no years of experience is required
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations
Strong conflict resolution and negotiating skills to balance individual and business needs
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize workload
Knowledge of the type of patient care provided in various units throughout the hospital
Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations and when to escalate issues to leader

Preferred

Associate's degree in Business, Healthcare or Related Field
