Paralegal
Armbrust & Brown is seeking an experienced Municipal Utility District (MUD) / Special Districts Paralegal to support one of the most active public law practices in Central Texas. The role involves performing substantive legal and administrative work, ensuring compliance and effective operations for multiple districts.
Responsibilities
Prepare board meeting materials and agendas
Draft and proof district documents, resolutions, and orders
Coordinate and post meeting notices in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act
Maintain district records and minute books
Track deadlines, regulatory filings, and bond-related documentation
Assist with elections, annexations, and district formation matters
Communicate with engineers, financial advisors, bond counsel, and district consultants
Support public finance and development-related district work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
1–2+ years of related experience preferred
Experience working with MUDs, special districts, or local government entities strongly preferred
Familiarity with Texas Open Meetings Act posting requirements
Strong organizational and deadline-management skills
Ability to manage multiple districts and competing timelines
High attention to detail and comfort working with technical and legal documents
Professional communication skills — this role interacts directly with client boards and consultants
