Responsibilities

Developing and presenting innovative marketing and business development strategies that support practice growth and client expansion
Building deep knowledge of the firm’s attorneys, clients, experience, and capabilities, translating that insight into compelling value propositions for new business generation
Preparing standard and custom pitch materials
Drafting RFP responses
Supporting business development presentations
Leading the preparation of annual submissions for key legal rankings and recognitions, including Chambers, Legal 500, and other industry awards
Tracking and evaluating thought leadership opportunities, conferences, and sponsorships that enhance visibility, support cross-selling, and strengthen the firm’s brand in priority markets
Partnering with the events team to support internal and external programs that drive client relationships and practice development
Conducting strategic research and competitive intelligence, including monitoring competitor activity, industry trends, and prospective client developments to uncover new business opportunities
Drafting and maintaining marketing collateral such as practice descriptions, attorney bios, client presentations, and matter experience databases
Managing one direct report
Liaising with key business services departments - including Finance, Conflicts, Diversity, and Legal - to gather information and support pitches, proposals, and client-facing initiatives

Required

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a concentration in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
At least six years of marketing or business development experience within a law firm or professional services environment
Demonstrated understanding of business development strategy in a law firm setting

Concentration in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
Prior exposure to litigation and/or automotive practices is strongly preferred
Experience with matter management systems and data entry is preferred
