Data Analyst Intern (Summer 2026)
Battelle is a company focused on solving humanity’s most pressing challenges through science and technology. They are currently seeking a Data Analyst Intern for Summer 2026, where the intern will define, architect, and build data pipelines and processes while collaborating with various experts.

Responsibilities
Solving technical problems using Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) approaches in areas that require mathematical and/or statistical methods and knowledge
Communicating on a regular basis with project leaders, team members and client stakeholders including mathematicians, computer scientists, statisticians, epidemiologist, and engineers
Proactively managing expectations and meeting deadlines in a fast moving, agile software development environment
Conducting and participating in assigned projects with minimum of supervision and within time and budget constraints
Thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment solving problems in a variety of application areas
Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation
Reviews system requirements and business processes
Works independently and as a member of a multi-functional, dynamic team
Support system testing as needed
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data engineering, data analytics, management information systems, mathematics, statistics or equivalent
Sophomore standing or higher
Demonstrated experience or knowledge of data languages such as Python, SAS, R, Java, C, C++
Demonstrated experience or knowledge of relational database engines such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent development projects
Applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person, as defined by U.S. export control laws
Preferred
Prior internship or research experience is a plus
Understanding of source code control
Understanding of software development methodologies
Understanding of patterns and coding best practices
