Responsibilities
Provide customer service to the client by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location
Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating issues through the chain of command as needed
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, substations, yards, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, identifying and reporting hazards, suspicious conditions, and maintenance concerns
Monitor gates, entry points, and authorized work areas, verifying identification and/or credentials, controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and maintaining accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery logs
Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports, support investigations with clear observations, and maintain required equipment and readiness in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
Have a minimum of one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience
Have a TSA issued TWIC
Have an armed guard card and/or license
Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client
Be at least 21 years of age
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Participate in industry-specific security training programs
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
