Program Assistant I (Temporary)
The State of South Dakota is seeking a Program Assistant I for the Department of Social Services. The role involves conducting Central Registry checks for Child Protection Services and processing fingerprint cards for applicants in foster care and related services.

Responsibilities
Conduct in state Central Registry checks for Child Protection Services, Office of Licensing and Accreditation, Child Care Services, Self Requests and requests from other states
Conduct out of state Central Registry checks for Child Protection Services, Office of Licensing and Accreditation and Child Care Services on applicants who have lived outside of South Dakota in the past five years
Complete the Adam Walsh Fingerprint process for all applicants of foster care, kinship and employees with Group and Residential Facilities in the state
This entails processing DCI and FBI fingerprint cards, review results and determine eligibility of the applicant
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration
Knowledge of supervision and other personnel management processes
Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Knowledge of general methods and processes in areas such as purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and other administrative activities pertinent to government operations
Knowledge of computer systems and applications
Knowledge of distribution methodologies
Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
Ability to communicate information concisely and efficiently
Ability to interpret objectives and develop practical applications
