Business Development Director, Signaling

Responsibilities
Developing, maintaining, and nurturing relationships and partnerships with customers, agencies, installers, consultants, and other stakeholders in the railway signaling environment
Identifying and growing Alstom’s market share in the signaling segment in North America
Monitoring opportunities in Alstom’s CRM tool and ensuring all stakeholders are informed about Alstom signaling solutions and services
Acting as Tender Leader to lead multi-functional tender teams on selected pursuits, establishing winning strategies, and managing day-to-day relationships with stakeholders
Assuming responsibility for tender commercial strategy, including all commercial and legal deliverables
Ensuring financial risks and legal requirements are addressed by relevant support functions (taxes, insurance, bonds, etc.)
Preparing and presenting internal governance documents to secure corporate approval before submitting offers and signing agreements
Leading negotiations up until contract signature and ensuring proper transition and handover to Customer Directors and Project Managers
Acting as a strategic partner to collaborate with Alstom’s Customer Directors, Bid Managers, Project Managers, and Solution Directors on market developments, competitors’ activities, market trends, and R&D initiatives
Championing customer centricity in all activities and tracking market insights to support Alstom’s signaling growth
Qualification
Required
Degree in Business, Engineering, Law, or other related fields
Experience in business development, sales, or commercial activities within the rail/transit industry (mandatory)
Knowledge of US transit agencies and the customer base (mandatory)
Knowledge of digital signaling solutions (rail)
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to lead multi-functional teams and manage complex tenders
Strategic thinking and market analysis skills to identify growth opportunities
Resilience and adaptability to manage multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities
Commitment to ethics and compliance in all professional activities
A continuous learning mindset to stay ahead of market trends and innovations
Preferred
Familiarity with CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control)
