Responsibilities
Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
Supervises the laboratory and laboratory personnel to ensure the accurate, compliant, and productive operations of the department
Reviews analytical data to confirm data accuracy and acceptability of material for disposal
Provides oversight of the redirection and testing of off-spec materials
Coordinates additional testing with third-party laboratories or other service providers as needed
Manages the purchases and distribution of departmental operating supplies; ensures adherence to laboratory budget to promote profitability and performs functions to control costs
Provides technical expertise as needed to the Operations and Sales teams; supports Sales by ensuring pre-acceptance testing is completed appropriately
Supports, maintains and troubleshoots various laboratory instruments and equipment
Prepares various reporting as requested by location or organizational leadership
Participates in hiring, performance evaluation, promotion and discipline decisions for team members as needed
Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of progressive experience in a laboratory environment
Preferred
degree in chemistry or science-related field
