Responsibilities

Maintains City infrastructure and park turf by operates a variety of heavy equipment, with the occasional use of light or medium equipment, to and from work locations, construction sites, etc; performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment; and transports tools and equipment to and from work sites
Oversees and supervises special projects
Performs semi-skilled labor work to various maintenance and construction activities
Sets up work zones as appropriate and insures safety procedures and proper use of safety equipment at all times
Supports special events
Performs crew leader responsibilities as needed
Depending on the assignment may assist in Traffic Operations when needed

Qualification

Heavy equipment operationSupervisory skillsTechnical knowledgePhysical staminaAnalytical judgmentCommunication skills

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Over three and up to five years experience of operating heavy equipment
Must possess a minimum of Class B Commercial Driver's License
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and weekends and holidays as needed
Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check
Must pass a DOT-regulated drug/alcohol test
Successfully complete the FMCSA Clearinghouse background check process
