CAD Designer - TEMPORARY 6 MONTH ASSIGNMENT
Air Liquide is seeking a CAD Drafter-Designer for a temporary 6 month contract position. The role involves creating and modifying project drawings, supporting Plant Engineers, and ensuring documentation accuracy while adhering to industry standards.
Responsibilities
Project and Proposal Drawing Development: Create and/or modify project drawings including P&ID’s, electrical drawings, plan views, details, 3D model, isometrics, and lead sheets under engineering direction. Develop and incorporate equipment schedules, notes, and bills of materials under engineering direction. Make field measurements while adhering to space management plans to develop project drawings and provide material takeoffs. Modify project drawings during the construction phase under engineering direction. Revise drawings for as-built status per redlines or field inspection. Assist engineering and field staff with resolutions of interferences, conflicts, or discrepancies
Plant Engineering Support: Support Plant Engineers at the ALEUS sites to ensure site documentation is current and accurate. Modify site drawings based on as-builts provided by Plant Engineers through the MOC process
Administration : Utilize industry standards and enforce standards that ensure professional and uniform appearance and level of detail for drawing packages. Maintain project records in ORACLE Agile Product Lifecycle Management system. Prepare and log transmittals for all drawings released to internal or external customers. Maintain, backup, and archive files and drawings. Maintain inventory for CAD supplies and schedule equipment maintenance. Coordinate work of external drafting personnel. Manage priorities between project and plant needs
Physical Requirements: Light work including office work and field inspection. Occasional work within hazardous locations requiring use of proper PPE and safety procedures. Occasional elevated work including use of ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection. Travel up to 10%
Qualification
Required
Associate of Applied Science CAD and Drafting degree or technical trade certification
5+ years active experience with process drafting and/or in-field pipe detailing
Continuing education for CAD, technical, and professional topics
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical, CADWorxTM, and Autodesk Navisworks
Strong working knowledge of drafting standards, principles and CAD equipment (plotters, copiers,etc.)
Strong mechanical and spatial aptitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Fluent use of Google and MS Office software
Strong technical knowledge of typical industrial gas,specialty gas and chemical system function; specialized equipment, piping, and components
Ability to read, interpret, and scale mechanical and process drawings
General knowledge of document control standards including use of ORACLE Agile Product Lifecycle Management system
