Landscape Designer I

The Landscape Designer I role involves assisting in landscape architecture designs, preparing plan sets, and using computer-assisted design software under supervision to develop technical knowledge and work efficiency.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing design concepts, studies, and design options
Perform basic analysis and design calculations under direct supervision
Uses computer-assisted design software to execute assignments
Helps prepare presentations, renderings, and 3D models to effectively communicate design ideas to the project team, clients, and contractors
Provide support to department staff members as needed
Review work product for Quality Control/Quality Assurance purposes
Work collaboratively with team members to gain technical knowledge and work efficiency
Work on assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases
Perform other duties as required
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Landscape Architecture or related field (accredited program)
0+ years of experience
Familiarity using computer-aided design software and other software packages typically associated with landscape architecture required
Proficient in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, etc
Demonstrates ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment, communicates with team members and builds relationships and trust
Familiarity with design principles, plant materials, hardscape elements, and sustainable design practices
Exercises good judgement
Ability to convey information through effective verbal and written communication
Perform assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases
Effectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols
Maintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements
Preferred
LEED, Arborist, or other relevant certification preferred
Willingness to learn and develop public speaking and presentation skills
