Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer
Supersede is a fast-growing advanced materials and sustainable manufacturing company producing high-performance structural panels made from recycled plastics and glass fiber. They are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience in manufacturing, extrusion, automation, and equipment optimization to support and improve their manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
Support, operate, and improve plastic extrusion lines and continuous manufacturing processes
Install, commission, and optimize manufacturing equipment, tooling, and automation systems
Drive process improvement, equipment upgrades, and cost-reduction initiatives
Collaborate with engineering and operations on manufacturing line design and optimization
Perform hands-on work in the lab and quality control environment
Interface with customers to understand product application and performance
Travel to Supersede manufacturing facilities to support operations and scale-up
Contribute to new product development including prototyping and production launch
Partner with Maintenance on reliability improvements and troubleshooting
Support a fast-paced startup manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Strong hands-on mechanical experience with industrial equipment and hand tools
Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, sensors, and industrial equipment
Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
Comfortable working on the factory floor in a manufacturing environment
Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing startup
Willingness to travel as required (25-50%)
U.S. Citizen
Located in or willing to relocate to Phoenix, AZ
Preferred
PLC systems exposure, PLC programming, and industrial automation experience
Controls experience including sensors, instrumentation, HMIs, and VFDs
Plastic extrusion or polymer processing experience
Lab experience including materials testing and quality control
Background in chemistry, polymers, composites, or materials science
Experience with equipment commissioning, line startups, or factory scale-ups
Experience in advanced manufacturing or sustainability-focused environments
