Responsibilities
Assist with the coordination of the design of the Civil Engineering package with TOR subconsultants which includes topography, drive aisle access, entrance locations, land scaping, permits, etc
Assist with the coordination of the design of the Structural Engineering package with TOR subconsultants which includes steel structures, buildings, foundations, etc
Develop, under supervision of a physical design engineer, the substation below grade package that includes the substation ground grid, conduit and trenches, foundations, oil containment, etc
Develop, under supervision of a physical design engineer, the substation above grade package that includes steel structures, bus work, equipment placement, grounding, conduit, lighting and receptacles, control enclosure, etc
Develop, under supervision of a physical design engineer, detailed bill of material for the substation physicals documenting all major and minor items
Perform site visits, take notes and measurements of field conditions to compare with existing substation drawings
Communicate with TOR Engineers and attend meetings for design reviews and updates on the project with TOR clients
Assist with the review and composition of equipment and construction specifications
Design of projects which adhere to National Electric Safety Code and meet the standards of client and TOR
Qualification
Required
At least 3 years of general design experience
Strong background in Mechanical Design is a must
At least 3 years of General Mechanical Design is required
Must be self-motivated and able to communicate and work well within a design team and customers
Knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD) software is required
Preferred
An eye for detail
Good work ethic
Team player
Mind for space planning
Familiarity with steel fabrication
Creativity
Prior experience in product development or a field where you were involved from site/product brainstorming to fabrication/construction
