Accounting Manager

Community Partners in Action (CPA) is a long-standing organization dedicated to criminal justice reform and supporting individuals in and out of prison. The Accounting Manager will manage various accounting functions, oversee the accounting team, and collaborate with the CFO to fulfill the agency's strategic needs.

Responsibilities

Supervise and provide guidance to Accountant and Accounts Payable/Payroll Administrator to ensure duties and responsibilities are carried out efficiently, effectively and accurately. This includes but is not limited to:
O accounts payable and purchase orders
O accounts receivable
O general ledger
O fixed assets
O grant and contract reporting
O projection reports
O payroll
Provide backup to fiscal positions, as necessary
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations
Conduct income/expense variance analysis
Record journal entries with supporting backup attached
Oversee and prepare grant and contract reports
Assist CFO with managing and compiling data and files for year-end financial and pension audits in collaboration with the Fiscal Team and Human Resources
Oversee vendor maintenance contracts to ensure timely renewal
As appropriate, assist CFO with:
+ preparing internal financial statements
Forecasting expenses and revenues
Establishing budgets
Reviewing and approving purchase orders
In collaboration with Human Resources, manage and ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll
All other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, payroll, reconciliations, and internal management reporting
Minimum three years of supervisory experience
Self-motivated individual with effective interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize the work appropriately
Able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and implement changes quickly and accurately
Strong emotional intelligence, decision making, analytical, computer and organization skills
Valid driver's license required

Preferred

Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and non-profit accounting experience are strongly preferred
