Systems Test Engineer
Foxhole Technology provides robust cybersecurity and IT support capabilities for federal civilian and defense agencies. The Test Engineer will support mission-critical cyber sensing platforms, performing hands-on testing and validation of network-level data and detection logic in security-constrained environments.

Responsibilities
Perform hands-on integration, regression, performance, and verification & validation (V&V) testing across distributed sensing platforms
Validate network- and protocol-level data, including packet captures, flows, telemetry, and metadata generation
Test and validate detection logic, including analysis of false positives, false negatives, and sensor outputs
Execute high-volume data replay, load, stress, and throughput testing to assess sensor performance and stability
Validate end-to-end data pipelines across collection, analytics, storage, and reporting components
Conduct testing in Linux-based, distributed, and security-constrained lab, cloud, and operational environments
Document test results, defects, impacts, and recommended corrective actions
Collaborate closely with systems engineers, developers, and cybersecurity engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Support Government test activities, including IV&V, operational testing, and test readiness events as required
Qualification
Required
Active DoD Secret clearance
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network, or systems testing
DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM I certification required (Security+, CySA+, CISM, CASP, CISSP or equivalent)
Direct experience testing network sensors, packet-based systems, or cyber telemetry platforms
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, protocols, packet flows)
Exposure to tools such as Wireshark, Zeek, Splunk, ACAS, Nessus, or similar
Experience testing in Linux-based or distributed environments
Ability to clearly document complex test scenarios and results
Preferred
Experience with DevSecOps pipelines and automated regression testing
Familiarity with DoD cyber systems, RMF validation, or operational cyber defense environments
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
