AP Accountant

The AP Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the Accounts Payable process, ensuring compliance, and assisting with month-end accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Process vendor invoices
Financial Analysis / Review
Execution of new supplier agreements in accordance with company compliance policies
Resolution of issues in the procure-to-pay process
Use tax application / management
Ensure compliance with Marmon’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP, FCPA and support internal audits
Implementing new processes and systems to ensure continue improvement
Assist with month-end accounting, reporting and account reconciliations
Review new vendors and ensure the set up is within compliance policies
Ad hoc projects as needed and other duties as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
1-3 years accounting experience
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Strong Excel skills
Self-motivated, organized, with strong attention to detail
Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn new software quickly

Preferred

Experience in public accounting / fast-paced environment a plus
Experience in accounting for commodities and/or wire and cable industry an asset
