Assistant Director, YouthBuild Program
Valencia College is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Assistant Director of YouthBuild to support program operations serving Orange County at their West Campus. This leadership role involves overseeing day-to-day program operations, supporting grant reporting and compliance, and collaborating with community partners to enhance educational and vocational experiences for young adults. The ideal candidate will be passionate about youth development and committed to promoting access and student success.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership for all grant activities of the Orange County YouthBuild program, which assists students with earning their high school diploma and provides opportunities for career training and job placement
Responsible for the development and implementation of grant deliverables, data analysis and reporting requirements, and evaluation of project outcomes
Collaborates with leadership in Continuing Education to ensure all program goals and strategies are met in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance daily
Supporting grant reporting and compliance requirements
Performing administrative duties related to program operations
Coaching and supporting students enrolled in the program
Communicating with prospective students
Partnering with internal and external community partners
Representing the program at community events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with program and case management; project management; contract development; data analysis and reporting; and grant and budget management
Ability to lead in a passionate, caring, and dynamic manner, exhibiting professionalism at all times
Ability to collaborate with multiple groups both internally and externally
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, complete assigned work within deadlines, and effectively lead employees to achieve peak performance goals and recognize need for training and education to improve performance
Ability to research related information and regulations, prepare reports and documents, and attend to details with a high level of accuracy
Possess critical thinking skills in setting priorities, assessing situations, and making sound and prudent decisions
Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), database and internet software
Demonstrated experience in recruiting new students and advising students
Ability to travel to multiple locations for onsite visits and meetings
Preferred
Business, Management, Education Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or related field
Strong communication skills
Experience working with grant-funded programs
Demonstrated commitment to supporting young adults who may have faced barriers to education or employment
Experience engaging and mentoring youth
Commitment to promoting access and student success
