Responsibilities
Support and influence the development of American Express’ overall enterprise strategies with Adyen, Block, Shopify, and Stripe. Guide Enterprise stakeholders as the thought leader on the constantly evolving fintech and commerce landscape, bring insights and critical thinking on market trends and competitive threats. Develop and implement effective strategies to grow the business through new products and partnerships and bring structure to framing complex issues
Cultivate relationships and establish new partnerships across the fintech ecosystem for payments and e-commerce initiatives and act as a primary point of contact for the enterprise
Establish yourself as an expert in the partners’ businesses and serve as a single point of partner insight within American Express as well as building knowledge of market and competitive trends
Work closely with internal partners to address partner issues; ensure closure of key issues
Build excellent relationships with a range of stakeholders across Amex who are critical to the success of the partnerships and work closely with them to meet partnership and business objectives
Maintain a consistent pulse and overview of initiatives and discussions with the partner across the enterprise and track progress against completion and intervene to course correct when initiatives are off track
Support major enterprise negotiations and new business development opportunities from ideation, business case development, and execution, in close partnership with key internal stakeholders
Support SP’s broader culture of growth, accountability, and retention
Qualification
Required
Proven ability to collaborate with partners and/or internal teams to deliver against key priorities (business development, negotiations, issue resolution)
Ability to excel in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous space. Highly proactive and comfortable acting with autonomy
Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work with partners across different functions, colleagues at all levels, and partners
Excellent written and verbal communication. Able to take complex ideas/materials and synthesize for executive audiences
Strong financial and analytical acumen; ability to translate data into insight and excellent attention to detail
Strong will to win, attention to detail, focus on efficient management, and willingness to roll up your sleeves
Comfort with ambiguity, intellectual curiosity, and ability to structure net-new opportunities
Bachelors degree required
