Responsibilities

Execute social media content strategies that balance brand storytelling and sales initiatives to grow followers and engagement
Collaborate with the Brand Manager to ensure content aligns with brand standards and strategic priorities
Develop and manage content plans for Lakanto Canada social channels, ensuring alignment with product availability and local marketing initiatives
Create and implement content and engagement strategies for the Sugar Free Living Facebook Group
Schedule and post campaigns consistently across Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok,, Pinterest, and LinkedIn under the guidance of the Marketing Director
Maintain an active presence on Instagram Stories with regular updates
Ensure all social media content meets brand guidelines, legal standards, and company compliance requirements
Produce visual and written content using Canva, Cap Cut or other design platforms
Craft engaging, brand-appropriate copy that resonates with the target audience
Source, coordinate, and manage influencer, partner, and brand ambassador content in alignment with Lakanto’s mission and values
Develop, test, and style original recipes for social media content that highlight product benefits, use cases, and brand positioning across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube)
Support food styling for shoots (in-house and remote), ensuring all content is visually compelling, on-brand, and optimized for short-form video and photography
Concept and execute recipe-based content series (e.g., seasonal bakes, sugar-free swaps, trend adaptations) to drive engagement and save/share rates
Collaborate with internal teams (brand, design, influencers, R&D) to translate product features into approachable, craveable food content
Act as a brand representative by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner
Actively engage with other companies, influencers, and brand partners to build connections
Coordinate giveaways, brand collabs and other engagement initiatives
Attend B2C and B2B brand events to capture social media assets, connect with customers, and strengthen industry relationships
Track social performance metrics and KPIs, delivering actionable insights and regular reports to the Brand Manager and VP of Marketing
Monitor trends and identify opportunities to optimize content performance and engagement
Monitor food, wellness, and social media trends (recipes, formats, sounds, challenges) and proactively adapt relevant trends into brand-aligned content
Track performance of recipe and food content, using insights (engagement, watch time, saves) to refine creative direction and content strategy
Stay up to date on emerging platforms, creator trends, and consumer behavior within the food, health, and wellness space
Ensure all social media content meets brand guidelines, legal standards, and company compliance requirements
Collaborate closely with Marketing, E-commerce, and Creative teams to achieve cohesive and effective social media efforts
Support additional marketing initiatives and projects as assigned by leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of experience in marketing, social media management, or related roles
Proven ability to execute content strategies across multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn for Social Media Manager; general social media experience for Marketing Coordinator)
Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or similar)
Strong food styling, recipe development, and culinary storytelling skills, with the ability to translate products into visually compelling, trend-driven social content
Deep understanding of food, wellness, and social media trends, with the creative judgment to adapt them into brand-aligned, high-performing content
Skilled in Canva or other design and content creation platforms
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Basic understanding of email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp)
Comfortable working with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, or Trello)
Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools to track performance metrics and KPIs (emphasized for Social Media Manager)
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects or campaigns concurrently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Creative mindset with the ability to craft engaging copy and visuals
Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and creative teams
Analytical thinker who can interpret campaign data and draw insights

Willing and able to occasionally appear on camera for still images, video, and audio content
Comfortable standing, walking, and moving around at events, trade shows, or on-site locations to take photos, record video, or engage with attendees and customers
Occasional work in outdoor environments for events, community activations, or photo shoots
Must be able to lift and carry small equipment, props, or materials up to 25 lbs., including event or trade show setup items
Occasional travel may be required for events, trade shows, or on-site brand activations (generally less than 10% of work time)
Regularly required to sit, stand, and communicate clearly in person and via digital platforms
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with standard lighting, temperature, and noise levels
Positive, professional demeanor with a team-player attitude
