We are seeking a full-time Computer Science Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2026, where the intern will primarily work on developing a semi-automated image analysis tool for carbon processing from scanning electron microscopy images.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing and refining a Python-based GUI using PyQt5 and OpenCV
Support integration of analysis features and image segmentation tools
Help test and debug new functionality across different image sets
Contribute to UI improvements for usability and reproducibility in scientific data workflows
Qualification
Required
Python is required
Junior level and above
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred
Knowledge of PyQt5 or other GUI frameworks
OpenCV for image processing
Familiarity with NumPy and Matplotlib
Familiar with understanding image segmentation, masking, or broad image analysis
