Responsibilities

Answer all design related questions coming from our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop
Lead and coordinate the selection of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire
Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding
Creation of Non-Conformances (NC) items in our internal system
Help with the creation of Non-Conformances (NC) dispositions
Create/update redline drawings for the 2D electrical harness drawings
Release Redline drawings in Windchill
Lead and coordinate any improvement initiatives associated to increase rate, productivity, and efficiency at our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop
Lead, coordinate and identify any initiatives and updates required in the design engineering to facilitate automation during harness manufacturing
Lead and coordinate process updates and improvements based on our internal Electrical Harness Manufacturing Shop feedback
Provide technical guidance for harness manufacturing
Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses
Report on activity schedule and technical status
Identify opportunities for technical improvements

Required

B.S. degree or higher in Electrical or an appropriate engineering field
5+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry
7+ years of experience supporting manufacturing of Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry
Experience performing harness fabrication and installation
Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD)
Understanding and application of wire derating analysis
Knowledgeable with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4
Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software
Knowledgeable on 6 sigma principles

Preferred

IPC/WHMA-A-620A Certification
M.S. in Industrial Engineering
Experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing
Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems
6 Sigma Green/Black belt certification
