Associate Director of Regional Engagement

Responsibilities
Developing and coordinating a strategic market presence in key markets for Georgetown
Managing Georgetown’s Alumni Clubs and Alumni Contacts in these regions
Partnering closely with Club and Contact volunteers via monthly meetings and travel to each market as budget affords
Cultivating, training, educating, and stewarding a network of volunteers for various leadership positions
Engaging Clubs and Contacts on behalf of the University to deliver key messages and support University initiatives
Planning, coordinating, and programming off-campus events for the University
Overseeing communications strategy for the Alumni Clubs Committee
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Required
Minimum qualifications include 3 years of experience of which 1 year was specifically dealing with alumni relations, event planning, or a related area preferably in higher education
Must be proficient with standard computer applications including Microsoft Office suite, internet and e-mail
Proven experience working with volunteers
Computer literacy, excellent writing and speaking skills and attention to details are vital
High level of self-confidence and enthusiasm; ability to be a self-starter; strong customer service focus
The ability to tend to the needs of the alumni body enthusiastically, professionally, diplomatically, and promptly is essential
Candidates must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment on several projects at a time
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Personable and experienced in customer relations
Experience working with volunteers and alumni relations
Must be extremely well-organized and detail-oriented, able to successfully handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and consistently meet all deadlines and goals
Must be able to assimilate data, exercise sound judgment and discretion, and work independently
Accuracy in materials preparation, dependability, and ability to maintain confidentiality are required
Preferred
Experience working in higher education is a plus
Event management knowledge also a plus
Familiarity with social networking programs is a plus
