Responsibilities

Defines, plans, and performs engine, powertrain calibration and other relevant engineering project work within project team as required
Plans and manages engineering resources according to project requirements
Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, engine testing, vehicle testing, data analysis and validation
Support/ensures data quality and writes technical project reports
Reviews project for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, including opinions and interpretations
Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues
Defines, executes and supports research and development activities
Participate in customer meetings
Communicates test results, progress and issues as they arise to project team and customer
Participates in powertrain calibration development trips as required
Other duties as required to ensure project success

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
3-5+ years' experience in expertise
Experience and exposure to Automaker Practices
A thorough understanding of Internal Combustion Engines and Powertrain related vehicle systems functionality
A basic understanding of IC engine emissions controls components, After Treatment Systems and functionality
Powertrain Calibration development experience with achieving automotive tailpipe emissions standards
OBD Calibration to achieve automotive OBD requirements
Ability to be effective in Powertrain Calibration optimization to meet fuel economy and emissions objectives
Ability to operate effectively in a professional testing environment
Working experience/knowledge/skills in some or all of the following tools: Etas INCA, ATI Vision, Vector CANape, CANalyzer
Ability to interpret C Code and navigate other software description aids
Microsoft Office (required)
Active support of Group Leader for managing of small technical teams
Working effectively with customers and other program staff and team members
Accountability for individual and team delivery
Active pursuit of personal and departmental improvement
Effective communication with all levels of the program team
Active involvement in Annual Review and Work Planning Process
Support the Business Development process for specific clients
Efficient on time delivery of program expectations with consistently high feedback
