Instructor - Trauma and Acute Care Psychologist Surgery

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship in Trauma and Health Psychology. This two-year full-time position focuses on providing clinical and research training in trauma psychology, preparing fellows for independent research and clinical practice in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

Providing inpatient and outpatient treatment to patients requiring emergency surgery following injury or due to critical illness
Conducting brief assessment and intervention drawing upon core clinical health psychology skills
Providing evidence-based treatment for psychological sequelae of trauma or acute illness
Developing expertise in evidence-based practices for treatment of PTSD
Treating depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment difficulties following injury
Participating in an integrative multidisciplinary clinic for firearm injured patients
Gaining experience in supervising trainees under the supervision of licensed faculty
Participating in the Milwaukee Trauma Outcomes Project, including designing and implementing research projects
Contributing to manuscript development with ongoing and completed research projects
Presenting research findings at local and national conferences

Required

Postdoctoral training experience in Trauma and Health Psychology
Clinical and research training focused on trauma and health psychology
Experience in providing inpatient and outpatient treatment to patients requiring emergency surgery following injury or due to critical illness
Expertise in evidence-based practices for treatment of PTSD
Experience in treating depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment difficulties following injury
Ability to work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team
Experience in supervising trainees under the supervision of licensed faculty
Participation in research projects related to trauma and health psychology
Ability to contribute to manuscript development and present research findings at conferences
