Adjunct Faculty - Finance
Virginia's Community College System is the largest public institution of higher education in Virginia, and they are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member in Finance. The role involves planning and teaching finance courses to students from diverse backgrounds, developing course materials, and assessing student progress.

Responsibilities
Teach specific classes in the designated discipline
Develop course syllabi and instructional materials
Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress
Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS
Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in the teaching field or associate degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies. Qualifying fields for degree can include business administration, business management, finance, accounting and taxation
Qualifying academic degree must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution
A minimum of two years of full-time, related occupational experience. Part-time occupational experience will be converted to its full-time equivalent
Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate the diversity of community college students
Ability to use formative and summative assessment measure to enhance student learning
Experience with or ability to utilize proven teaching strategies that promote student success
Ability to use or incorporate emerging technologies and alternative delivery methods to enhance classroom instruction
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and oral/written communication skills
Available to teach a combination of day, evening, weekend, and online classes
Knowledge of major concepts, theories, and subject matter in Finance. Subjects in the discipline include, but are not limited to, Personal Finance, Securities Investment, Credit Union Operations, Corporate and/or Small Business Financial Management
Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area
Preferred
Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, virtual-synchronous, and online formats
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment
Experience in teaching college-level business or business-related courses
Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency
Experience teaching in a classroom at a community college
Five or more years occupational experience in mid-level management
