Clean Energy Counsel, a mission-driven law firm dedicated to accelerating the world’s transition away from fossil fuels, seeks to hire a highly qualified mid-level project development associate with law firm experience. The role involves drafting and negotiating renewable energy contracts and supporting project development in the renewable energy field.

Responsibilities

Support the team with project development in the renewable energy field
Collaborate with clients, CEC colleagues, and other professionals on project development matters
Adhere to Firm policies, practices, and priorities
Perform other duties as requested by Firm management

Required

3-5 years' experience at a law firm, ideally in a practice serving clients in the renewable energy and related industries
Experience negotiating a variety of traditional renewable energy contracts (EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, etc.)
Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation and analytical skills
Team-focused outlook with a focus on mentoring junior attorneys
Proficiency in legal research and drafting
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational and planning skills with the capacity to simultaneously handle a variety of complex matters under strict deadlines and pressure
Admission to and in good standing with the Bar of the applicant's state of residence

1,200 annual billable hour requirement, with hourly bonus for exceeding such requirement
