Responsibilities

Advanced problem solving using various information sources. Must determine what the best source of information is and query the data, analyze the data, and present it in most appropriate format, i.e., graphs, summary reports, etc
Ownership of all HVI Registry system PowerBI dashboards, ensures they are optimized and working for each division
Consistently identify and understand technical issues presented by assignments
Develop appropriate goals and objectives for assigned projects. Determine appropriate procedures to meet goals in an efficient, effective, and thorough manner
Responsive to deadlines and completes tasks within the amount of time prescribed by supervisor. Maintain high level of accuracy and timeliness
Independently resolve problems encountered
Identify problems and develops meaningful recommendations as a result of work performed
Prepare concise, meaningful analysis or narratives which present conclusions clearly in an unequivocal manner in conformity to established goals and objectives
Report information, analysis, outcomes, trends, patterns to the appropriate department member, committee chair, and/or director
Present reports to appropriate team/committee as appropriate, including recommendations, as appropriate. Provide timely updates on significant problems and issues encountered
Identify meaningful opportunities for department involvement in quality improvement projects
Work well with department and facility committee and project leads, understanding clinical needs of the committee/project to help progress the process improvement initiatives
Develop plan and determines pertinent information to be extracted from the medical record (concurrent and retrospective) and/or associated electronic patient information (MARs, AccessAnyware, Power Chart, Gerner, Medipac, etc) for inclusion in and submission to project, committee, system, regional, and national databases, as applicable to the current projects
Provide consultation and assistance for presentations
Organize discussions or multi-disciplinary teams, as applicable, including key personnel, chiefs, chairs, physicians to discuss findings and help identify, initiate, and assist in process improvement
Knowledge of the process improvement methodology
Knowledge of the process improvement project and supporting literature as appropriate. Knowledge of project goals to identify key individuals/departments
Communication with identified individuals re: project goals and outcomes. Coordinate preparation, submission, and review of external reports
Master new computer software and upgrades, as applicable
Track department and related facility quality projects
Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field (clinical or non-clinical, e.g., healthcare policy, healthcare administration, health information)
Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare facility (e.g., hospital, insurance company)
Strong background in Power BI
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical situations
Strong problem solving, data analysis, and creativity that would enable and motivate change
Excellent ability to work with computer applications and functions
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills
Confidentiality and accuracy is essential

Preferred

Strong knowledge of quality improvement, regulatory requirements and compliance
Knowledge of and ability to work with the MediQual Atlas system and with the Corporate Data Base, Cognos and Report Net
