Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract with a client in Atlanta, GA. This role requires a mainframe systems programmer with deep expertise in z/OS environments and enterprise‑level system operations.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and tune z/OS and ISV products using SMP/E, ensuring stable, high‑performance mainframe environments
Design and maintain SYSPLEX configurations, coupling facilities, and related high‑availability components
Administer core z/OS services including JES2, RACF (certificates, keyrings), and zOSMF, enforcing security and operational best practices
Manage I/O configuration via HCD/HCM (IODF/IOCDS/IOCP) and support z/Architecture hardware (z13–z16)
Configure and troubleshoot VTAM/TCP/IP networking (ports, device definitions, VIPA, SMTP) and oversee ZFS usage and HFS‑to‑ZFS migrations
Implement and support system automation (e.g., IBM NetView, CA OPS/MVS, MAINVIEW/OMEGAMON) and develop REXX utilities and exits to streamline operations

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
6–8+ years of hands‑on experience in z/OS systems programming within a mainframe environment
Strong proficiency in z/OS installation, configuration, SMP/E maintenance, and SYSPLEX/coupling facility management
In‑depth knowledge of mainframe networking (VTAM/TCPIP), RACF security administration, JES2 operations, and automation tools such as NetView, OPS/MVS, or MAINVIEW/OMEGAMON
