PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER (DEVELOPMENT SERVICES)
NEOGOV is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer for the City of Newport Beach. This front line position is responsible for leading and managing engineering and permitting staff, overseeing development processing and providing assistance to key engineering personnel.

Responsibilities
Leading and managing plan check, engineering and permitting staff
Overseeing Development processing/permitting programs and private development and utility work specifically in Public Right of Way and Encroachment review
Providing staff assistance to the Public Works Director, City Engineer and City Traffic Engineer
Qualification
Required
Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil or structural engineering experience including two years of lead supervisory and project management responsibility
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil or structural engineering or related field
A valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record
Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a professional civil engineer in the State of California
Preferred
Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year of appointment, International Code Council Certified Plans Examiner certificate
