Senior Pipe Stress Engineer

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. This role involves leading the design and administration of Plant Design & Piping systems to ensure compliance with engineering standards and quality design for safe plant operation.

Responsibilities

Leads or administers work of Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) designers and drafters to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings
Develops designs for complete and complex PD&P engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed
Assists in constructing detailed scale models
Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations
Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved PD&P design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy
Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards
Participates in constructability reviews
Plans, develops, coordinates, and reviews design work within a small-size PD&P design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit
Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters
Prepares or oversees the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly

Required

U.S. Citizenship is required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
8+ years of experience with common pipe stress industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3
Prior experience using pipe stress analysis programs including ME101 and/or Bentley AutoPIPE
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site
