Development and Communications Associate

Northern Sierra Partnership is a collaborative initiative focused on conserving and restoring the natural landscape of the Northern Sierra Nevada. The Development and Communications Associate supports the Partnership by assisting in fund development, communications, and operational priorities, ensuring smooth functioning of the organization.

Responsibilities

Works with the President and the Associate Director to plan, develop, and produce materials for the NSP campaign, including booklets, invitations, campaign progress reports, and other documents, with primary responsibility for design and production
Works with the President and Associate Director to plan and execute field tours, receptions, the NSP Annual Celebration, and other special events
Promptly acknowledges all gifts and updates NSP’s Salesforce database with gift information and copy of thank you letter
Coordinates the production and post-campaign distribution art prints to all campaign donors
Schedules and coordinates tri-annual meetings of the NSP Governing Council, including confirming meeting locations and attendance, planning meeting logistics, prepping AV presentations and materials, drafting meeting notes, and helping the NSP President with other prep and follow-up, as needed
Schedules and coordinates quarterly meetings of the NSP Partners, distributing meeting agendas and materials, taking notes, and following up as necessary with all participants
Works with President in planning, producing, and distributing NSP’s quarterly e-newsletters
Maintains the Partnership’s website and social media presence
Maintains the NSP photo archive
Assists with other communications projects as needed
Codes all NSP expenses and submit expense reports to CI
Prepares vendor contracts and works with CI to secure signatures on those contracts by other parties
Collects invoices and W-9s from vendors, submits check requests to CI, and ensures payments are made
Collects •Completed Projects Reports•, •Restoration and Recreation Reports• and shape files from Partners and maintains Project Database
Works with GIS consultant to update GIS database of properties conserved and produce new maps for use by NSP and Partners
Maintains Salesforce database and runs reports as needed to plan campaigns, donor events and track the progress of the NSP campaign
Works with President to prepare annual •NSP Impact Report•
Keeps the Partnership’s San Francisco office fully supplied and operational, with equipment in good working order, files organized, and supplies on hand for current and anticipated work

Required

Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Experience in (and/or working knowledge of) the conservation field
Strong computer and design skills including comfort working on a MacOS platform, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver), Google Apps and other Internet cloud applications
Bachelor's degree

Preferred

Familiarity with Squarespace and basic HTML is valuable, but not essential
Experience working with adults and/or children in an outdoor setting
