INDUSTRIAL PRETREATMENT INSPECTOR (Engineering Technician III) - Range 14 / AMEA
The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking an Engineering Technician III to join their Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility department. This role involves performing inspections, drafting, and various engineering tasks to support municipal operations.

Perform inspections related to industrial pretreatment programs
Conduct drafting and surveying tasks as needed
Engage in materials testing and plan review
Assist in permitting and computerized mapping activities
Utilize computer-assisted design (CAD) software for project tasks
Enforce code compliance through inspections and reviews
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and five years of experience in one or more of the following fields: drafting, surveying, inspection, materials testing, plan review, permitting, computerized mapping, computer assisted design (CAD), traffic signal control, and/or code enforcement, and at least one year of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level with Municipality or equivalent elsewhere
OR Associates degree in Engineering, Geomatics, Construction Management, Computer Assisted Design (CAD), or a discipline specific to the department, and three years of experience in one or more of the following fields: drafting, surveying, inspection, materials testing, plan review, permitting, computerized mapping, computer assisted design (CAD), traffic signal control and/or code enforcement, and at least one year of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level with the Municipality or the equivalent elsewhere
OR Bachelors degree in Engineering, Geomatics, Construction Management, or a discipline specific to the department, and one year of experience at the Engineering Technician II level with the Municipality or the equivalent elsewhere
Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire
Valid State of Alaska Drivers License and satisfactory Driving Record at time of hire
Code Enforcement Officer Certification within 6 months of hire
