Responsibilities
Lead a section of approximately 10-15 software engineers and managers
Coordinate with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees
Evaluate/recommend employees for promotions, evaluate salaries and coordinate with Human Resources on potential adjustments
Assist employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary
Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace. Ensure employees’ work life balance is appropriate
Maintain staff adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth
Plan assignments and fill program needs to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work
On an ongoing basis engage with staff to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, etc
Execute to the Enterprise review cycle. Manage compensation and career progression
Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters
Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader
Proficiency in C/C++, Object Oriented programming, and software lifecycle processes
Candidate must have excellent written, communication, and emotional intelligence skills, and be able to work independently and within groups
Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters
Candidate must be able to work on site at the Rancho Carmel facility
Clearance: A current/active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred
Previous experience managing managers
Current direct program duties within the Communications Solutions (CS) Business Unit (BU), including F-22, F-35, CNI, and Advanced Communications
Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applications
Experience with RTOS designs and implementing secure software for embedded systems
Experience with ARM architecture and peripherals
Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and the Agile software development process
Experience with Networking protocols (IPSec, TLS)
Experience with TCP/IP and common network configurations
Experience implementing cryptographic mechanisms using dedicated software libraries (wolfSSL)
Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development/modifications
Familiarity with assembly language
Familiarity with bare metal embedded device drivers
Familiarity with PowerPC architectures and peripherals
Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGA
Familiarity with Xilinx tools (Vitis, Vivado)
Familiarity with IBM tools (Rhapsody, DOORS, Clearcase)
Familiarity with Green Hills AdaMulti
Familiarity with Static Analysis and Unit Testing
