Director of Engineering 2 - Electronics & Payloads Discipline Lead

Responsibilities
Provide technical and people leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of all major disciplines/functions within the Electronics & Payloads (E&P) Directorate
Drive long-range strategic planning, ensuring organizational alignment with sector goals, program needs, and future technology requirements
Lead efforts to optimize people, processes, and tools to support the successful execution of Sector Engineering and Sector Programs across all phases of their lifecycles
Quickly engage to identify and diagnose program challenges across their full lifecycle, including development, hardware/software integration, production, and test phases
Oversee special assignments such as proposal development, independent technical reviews, anomaly resolution, program standup reviews, and technical audits
Strengthen collaboration with cross-functional organizations, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and affordability goals for program success
Drive innovation and support advanced research and technology development to align with long-range sector priorities (LRSP)
Champion risk, issue, and opportunity management strategies to ensure operational success and mitigate risks effectively
Manage and optimize budgets, including direct, indirect, NCTA, and capital resources, to achieve organizational objectives efficiently
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline from an accredited institution
Twelve (12) years of experience in engineering, project management, and/or functional management roles
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and collaborate across organizations to achieve shared objectives
Active DoD Top Secret and SCI clearance, at time of application
Preferred
Fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering, project management, and/or functional management roles
Experience in development and production programs, including Engineering, Integration & Test (I&T), and full lifecycle disciplines
Demonstrated ability to quickly assess complex program or technical challenges and enable decisive resolution
Strong expertise in affordability optimization for production-phase programs
Significant experience managing large, cross-discipline teams and successfully implementing strategic goals
Expertise in technology and research development initiatives aligned with long-term organizational goals and innovation priorities
Familiarity with managing diverse resource types, including indirect resources, NCTA (Non-Contractual Technical Activity), and capital budget allocations
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations and briefings
