Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty - Child Development
City Colleges of Chicago is currently seeking a Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty for Child Development Studies. The role involves preparing instructional materials, developing course syllabi, and providing high-quality instruction to support students in the early childhood education profession.

Responsibilities
Prepare instructional materials for Early Childhood Education students and professionals
Develop a course syllabus and utilize student-learning outcomes to guide course instruction
Record and submit grades electronically using the college’s database
Utilize instructional technology
Navigate and make use of a Learning Management System (LMS) to support classroom instruction
Complete office hours to guide and offer instructional support to ECE students
Administer programmatic evaluations
Assess student learning and utilize data to make instructional decisions
Attend departmental/college-wide meetings
Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuit certifications required by the college
Being responsible for instruction in a college environment, specifically within a program with a specialized accreditation
Syllabi construction (from a master syllabus template)
Developing authentic hands-on learning opportunities for students
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Teaching, Education, or a degree in a related field
Strong knowledge of formative and summative assessments and the role it plays in the teaching and learning environment
Time Management and Task Management Skills
Prior teaching experience in ECE
Experience in a higher education environment, teaching adult learners
Familiarity with NAEYC Accreditation Standards
Familiarity with Illinois Gateways
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student's ability to learn
Create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies
Preferred
Illinois PEL License (preferred but not required)
Knowledge of instructional technology such as Brightspace or other learning management platforms preferred
