Carex Consulting Group is partnering with a financial services organization to identify an Organizational Change Management (OCM) Consultant to support a large-scale, enterprise-wide transformation. This consultant will lead the people side of change for a multi-year core system conversion that impacts every part of the organization, focusing on end-user adoption and embedding OCM practices into the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Lead the people side of change for a complex, enterprise-wide transformation, integrating OCM practices beyond training and communications
Develop and execute a comprehensive change management strategy aligned to project scope, timeline, complexity, and risk
Partner closely with project leadership, business leaders, training teams, and communications partners to embed change activities into the overall project plan
Conduct organizational readiness and change impact assessments to identify risks, stakeholder needs, and mitigation strategies
Facilitate stakeholder analysis and engagement strategies to drive awareness, buy-in, and sustained adoption across distributed teams
Create and support clear, consistent communication and feedback loops that ensure employees feel informed, engaged, and part of the journey
Guide development of training materials, job aids, readiness tools, and enablement resources, ensuring preparedness for new systems and processes
Assess adoption and readiness, address resistance, and adjust change strategies as needed throughout the lifecycle
Support business owners with post-launch sustainability and reinforcement planning
Establish governance and reporting practices to track progress, manage change-related risks, and escalate issues appropriately
Mentor, coach, and teach internal team members to build organizational OCM competency and maturity
Challenge behaviors and decisions that are not aligned with stated goals, ensuring momentum and accountability throughout the transformation

Required

6+ years of hands-on Organizational Change Management experience across all phases of large, complex project lifecycles
Demonstrated ability to apply OCM concepts in real-world, high-impact transformations beyond theoretical or certification-based knowledge
Experience supporting large-scale technical transformation initiatives lasting a year or longer
Strong leadership, facilitation, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority
Proven comfort challenging assumptions, pushing back constructively, and driving decisions in ambiguous or high-stakes environments
Advanced communication skills, including the ability to translate complex business and technical concepts for diverse audiences
Experience mentoring, coaching, and building change capability within teams and organizations
Familiarity with ADKAR or similar change methodologies; certification is preferred but not required
Experience working in large, matrixed, or highly regulated environments; financial services or distributed/branch-based operations experience is a plus
High emotional intelligence, strong judgment, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics effectively
Proficiency with common productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Visio, PowerPoint, DevOps tools)
Ability to work in a hybrid model, with on-site presence a couple of days per week in Madison, Wisconsin
