Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE V&V)-Journeyman

AMEWAS is a trusted partner of the Department of Defense (DoD) providing engineering, testing, and evaluation for U.S. Navy weapons systems. They are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (JSE V&V)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation, responsible for testing software, creating test plans, and collaborating with product owners and developers.

Responsibilities

Tests software for an advanced synthetic training environment
Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats
Supports functional and system-level software testing, customer training and demonstrations
Creates test plans, test matrices and test procedures to validate new requirements
Executes regression tests on new JTB test builds
Tests a variety of Jira issues (new feature implementation, bug fixes, database queries, etc.)
Documents test results and discovered issues in Jira
Collaborates with JTB product owners, software developers and subject matter experts during training sessions
Communicates access across a large team to verify correct procedures and software issue diagnosis
Runs extensive regression tests when software reaches Release Candidate (RC) phase

Required

BS Degree in technical discipline OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 2 years of additional work experience (5 years total)
3 years of relevant work experience
3 years of experience in developing/performing tests of systems to identify software/hardware deficiencies and verifying compliance with system requirements
Experience in documenting software defects and requirement compliance and reporting defects to developers
Experience creating and maintaining databases of known defects (Jira, GitLab, etc.)
The ability to participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, acceptability criteria, operational characteristics, product designs and schedules
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance-AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance

Preferred

Experience with scripting, databases and programming languages (C++, Python 3 and HTML)
Experience supporting modeling and simulation efforts
Experience supporting automated testing
DoD experience
