Responsibilities
Develop HVAC system layouts, schematics, and detailed designs utilizing AutoCAD and Revit for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings
Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure project accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and standards to meet all local regulatory requirements
Design of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical systems
Perform equipment sizing, thermal load, and ductwork sizing calculations
Develop procurement specifications, prepare engineering drawings such as piping and instrument diagrams, airflow diagrams, equipment plan, and ductwork layout drawings
Perform detailed heating and cooling load calculations according to ASHRAE standards to accurately determine appropriate HVAC equipment required
Collaborate closely with team members, leadership, clients, architects, and associated contractors, to integrate HVAC systems into building designs
Work with multi-discipline staff in designing and implementing mechanical systems in new or existing buildings
Ability to perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design document
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering or equivalent
Four (4) or more years of engineering experience in the design of HVAC systems
Engineer in Training (EIT)
AutoCAD and Revit proficient
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
Preferred
Plumbing and/or Fire Protection system design experience a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
