Analyst I, Legal Operations
Alabama Power Company is part of Southern Company, a leading energy provider serving millions of customers. They are seeking a Legal Operations Analyst to drive efficiency and transparency in legal spend management, manage matter administration processes, and oversee invoice compliance.

Responsibilities
Administer matter management processes and rigorously review invoices to ensure full compliance with billing guidelines
Act as the primary point of contact for vendor timekeeper rates, maintaining precise and up-to-date records
Prepare accurate monthly accruals and create insightful reports on legal spend trends and forecasting
Oversee invoice batch processing and coordinate end-to-end payment workflows in collaboration with Accounts Payable and Oracle AP systems
Provide backup support for team members and assist as needed to keep operations running smoothly
Qualification
Required
Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
Preferred
Hands-on experience with enterprise legal matter management and e-billing systems (e.g., Legal Tracker, CounselLink, Passport, or similar)
Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Knowledge of AP Oracle systems and invoice processing workflows
Previous experience in corporate legal departments or law firm billing/coordination
