Responsibilities
The incumbent of this position will ensure compliance with codes, ordinances and contracts governing the collection/disposal of refuse, yard waste and recyclables by County contractors and County forces
Incumbents, under general supervision, perform the full range of refuse collection assignments within the context of established Departmental policies/procedures while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with contractors, homeowners, and the general public
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Six (6) months public contact experience in community services occupations and customer service
A valid Maryland State driver's license is required upon appointment
Certification in Waste Management Best Practices, Recycling, Waste Diversion or other related waste, enforcement, and contract management course work issued by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) or other state or nationally recognized training institute
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered
Preferred
Associate Degree in Business Management, Business Administration or a related subject
