Responsibilities
Ensure a safe project site and work environment in accordance with Colaska policy, participate with Goal Zero principles
Assist Site Superintendent(s) and Project Manager(s) with project operations, schedules, and cost management
Be knowledgeable and experienced regarding the requirements of the MUTCD, Alaska Traffic Manual, Alaska DOT Standards and Specification Section 643 and the implementation of those requirements
Assist Project Manager with daily project duties such as material billing preparations, expedite material procurement, approval, and facilitate product transportation
Assist with the development of project(s) long-term and short-term schedule
Attend pre-job and weekly meetings with agencies/owners
Establish and maintain both cost report and billing quantities
Connect with Project Manager(s) and Site Superintendent(s) on a regular basis to ensure project issues and concerns are addressed
Handle positions that may report to the Project Engineer (Project Clerk, Project Engineer Intern)
Willingness to work nights and weekends if required
Other duties as the need arises for the project
Qualification
Required
Must be safety oriented
Requires a bachelor's degree and 3-6 years of engineering experience
Valid Driver's License
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team environment
Should have a spirit of adventure and have a positive demeanor
Must have supervisory skills, management experience, and good public relations conduct
Preferred
Preferred abilities in Trimble Business Center, and Road Design
Be Certified as a Traffic Control Supervisor by either: American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician, or Work Zone Safety Specialist----International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA)
