Accounting Supervisor

Roryana Consulting is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support financial operations within a fast-paced appliance and HVAC warehouse and distribution environment. The role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate inventory accounting, and improving financial visibility while maintaining compliance with GAAP.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, and month-end close
Ensure accurate inventory accounting across a large SKU environment, including reconciliations, adjustments, and valuation of appliance and HVAC products
Partner closely with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to improve cost tracking, inventory controls, and financial visibility
Identify process gaps and implement practical, scalable solutions to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy
Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for leadership
Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation
Supervise and mentor accounting staff as the team grows; provide guidance, accountability, and performance feedback
Establish documentation and procedures in an environment that may lack formal structure
Support system implementations or enhancements related to ERP, inventory management, and financial reporting
Develop a strong understanding of product flows, vendor relationships, and margin dynamics specific to the appliance and HVAC industry

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within appliance, HVAC, distribution, manufacturing, or other product-heavy environments
Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost methodologies, and high-volume transactions
Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems
Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive results with minimal structure

Preferred

Prior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred
Fluent in Chinese (Preferred, but not a deal-breaker!)
